There are no patch out for this build yet but there is a workaround First of all you\'ll need to create a username in trillian astra inside the client. 1.Just type in a name .Any name at all.We\'ll just call it bear and the password can be apples 2.Now when you try to connect it won\'t connect right?Exit out of trillian 3.Locate and go into this C:\\Document and Settings\\YourName\\Application Data\\Trillian\\users\\bear 4.Find the file ASTRA-bear.ini.Open it 5. You\'ll see a line that says prefsConnectionSettingsServerPort=3158 6. Change the number from 3158 to 4444 7.Now save the file and try logging on in trillian

@ ninjabear: You might also want to update the info for vista users.
for step 3 if you're using vista here's how to get to the location (make sure to enable seeing hidden files first):
C:\Users\YOUR NAME\AppData\Roaming\Trillian\users\YOUR TRILLIAN USERNAME.

it's working for me now, thanks. although this does seem to slow down the log-in process, it works. So i guess if and when a patch comes out, people try that and see if it speeds things up a bit. Other than that, this works fine. Thanks, ninjabear.

Really QuePID ? :'( it's seem that depend of the system / configuration, but for many ppl, it's doesn't work. We have to wait ;)

change port in "ASTRA-user.ini" with 4444 like he said, and in "trillian.ini" (in Trillian program) "[Login]

Oki, many thx. but a tried, ans exactly the same. It seems the different configuration is the problem. Maybe we have to wait for a real patch. I also tried the "trillian astra 4.0.0.xx" generic patch, and it doesn't work.

You could always block the following outbound TCP ports in your firewall:
TCP PORT 443 to 74.201.34.2
TCP PORT 3158 to 74.201.34.2
This works the same without any modifications to the application.

Now, people wonder why I actually enjoy vista... Maybe because I spent the first days exploring every little corners of it to find what it hides and control it better? In anyway, the directory is hidden so if you hope to simplify your life, activate how to see hidden files.
If you don't know how, its in the File Browser...
Click on Organise, Folder and Search options. In the 'View' tab, you will find See hidden files. Bring it to Yes.

Hey pascat, I tried what you said (I use vista) and it didnt work. It keeps saying "Error while connecting. Please check your account name and connection then try again." Is there another port number I should put in...I put 4444 but obviously its not working.
So, it seems win2K and vista users have many prods. I also tried to do what xavierk suggest, but nothing.

a new simple method for other operating system, install and login on older trillian version (like build 74).. a log will be created, then try again with build 75

artik1024 try installing build74, login with it, then install build75 and change the port number from 3158 to 4444. That worked for me!

Well, once launched, My DLL error as been solved ! (thx trillian team lol !)
Now i can use it normally. But question, I got this message when build 75 starts :
"trillian is currently in offline mode and not connected to the trilian astra network. Any changes to your contact list will not be saved to the server." (but i think it's normal lol)
Also, if i rename all my contact and close trillian, all my contacts back from their original names. Other issue : i need to launch trillian 2 or 3 times before he can connect and launched.
Strange .. lol

When it is not fiddled with Trillian Astra is designed to talk to a remote server and would save any changes to your contact list there. Since you are blocking access to the server to make it work it will not send or receive changes to the Astra server.
